Information for Bloggers

What do we look for in a blog post??

  • Conversational English, with good grammar,
  • focuses on garden and gardening topics.
  • Between 1,000 to 1,500 words.
  • At least 2 or 3 links to supporting articles or websites - ie/ backlinks.
  • An original article or at least original content is great but not necessary. If you quote another blog or person, please cite your sources.
  • Original Infographics, images videos etc are appreciated - or credit to sources.

What we look for in an Author

  • Authors with an engaged social presence or email list who are happy to share their articles.
  • You have a great story to tell or write in an engaging way
  • You are an experienced blogger and understand SEO

Do you pay your writers?

No, we are volunteer-based blog and not commercially funded

I work for a marketing agency. Can I write a guest post?

Sure … if it adheres to the guidelines above.

When will my post be published?

We will work with each writer to plan a publish date. All posts require at least a two-week lead time.

What format should I send my article to?

Please send your article in the body of an email or our contact form.

Will you link to my blog/website/Twitter/Google+/e-book?

We are happy to include a link (or two) in your article if your link is topically relevant to the article. Links in the body copy will be scrutinized for value. If it smells like a cheap backlink, it won’t be included.
